FMF Year Two
As we launch into our second year of funding, I am filled with hope at what is to come for the Flourishing Minds Fund and the greater mental health philanthropic community. Here are my top 3 reasons for excitement over the next few months:
Our grantees have had great success over the last twelve months. From Action for Happiness’ rapid expansion, to Irene Falgas-Bague’s forthcoming work on suicide prevention, to CEARCH’s fantastic analysis of the true cost-effectiveness of mental health interventions, we are extremely proud to have been able to support such excellent work.
We will be attending our first in-person gathering dedicated to mental health philanthropy, joining the rest of the Kokoro community in Kilkenny, Ireland in May. We couldn’t be more excited to meet fellow funders who recognize the importance of global mental health.
We are launching a podcast hosted by Chris Underhill (a man who needs no introduction). Chris will be interviewing mental health practitioners, policy-makers and researchers, and we can’t wait to tune in to the first episode, which will be available here later this month.
If you are reading this, I hope you will come back to visit the site as we continue to build our presence and launch into this new year. May 2024 be the year that we all truly realize that "there is no health without mental health.”
